Gotta get along while the daylights gone
Gotta ‘preciate all the snow banks lying in the streets
Rolling down the hills
Gotta stay alive even when life kills
Everyone is struggling
Everybody supplements
Snow and cold and suffering
Muffled in depression
But I’m going for a walk, face the cold and dark
Gotta keep a hope lit inside my heart
Get up outta bed before the sun goes down
Step outside the door and greet the day
Even if it’s with a frown
Don’t go back to bet
Gotta keep a song running through my head
Come Winter may, we will give it our good try
We may pour it out our eyes
But we will brim with all our might
And we won’t, no we will
Yea I guess we’ll survive
We will find a hidden joy
We will play like life’s a toy

A Transient Thing

You never get to go back in time
Nobody comes back to life
Everyone has to say goodbye to their childhood
You won't go back and climb the old tree
No one gets back their body
The limbs will fall away and bloom in the springtime
But watch the sun rise through the sky and then fall again
Springtime is finally here then it's fall again
Nobody will remember my name
I'll flicker out like a flame
Diminish just like we came, nothing and everything
I'll never get to see Dad again
We're all going to lose a friend
The words you meant to say will hang in the evening
And fade like the moon waning
But watch the stars burn as they turn past the window
Sit with the words you don't get to rescind though
The pattern will emerge then subside
You can't hold on but you'll try
Goodbye to sidewalk streams that flow in the springtime
The life you thought you'd lead in the end
Passed through you just like light bends
Glance off the atmosphere that glows in the springtime
You don't get to undo what you've done
You can't unhurt anyone
The tears evaporate
And rain in the springtime.

Old market in Cyanna
With grifters selling mana
The sun showers raining down glow golden in the air
An alley filled with gumdrops
A Ferris-wheel at sunset
The burnouts all want money
But settle for a cig
And I want to be happy
But my heart’s in a past life
So I smoke till I’m napping
Then walk along the pier
By the moon
This town’s an estuary
street cars and bikes and ferries
No rush here just rest and find a sanctuary soon
Sabrina and Savannah
At the hostel in Cyanna
They laugh and they walk along old lamppost lit stairs
And if you miss your old lover
If your heart’s feeling stubborn
Cyanna sings a melody that makes a closed heart bloom
By the moon
